We made the following weekly prediction for US stock market based on Tarot cards for the week Jan 23-27,2006

Prediction: Dow Jones is likely to move down further sharply before recovering some ground. Overall or net change is not clear for the coming week (Jan 23-27,2006) but huge upside( i.huge net large net gains in DJIA over the week) is looking less probable for Dow Jones. NASDAQ likely to do much better and may end the week with some gains.The nature of news concerning the US economy/markets is likely to be mixed- both good and bad news will flow in next week.What to do: Hold your short positions till early part of the week but prepare to go long around mid week on further correction"

Review: As can be seen following our recommedation and taking long position around mid week would have given good profits- more so with NASDAQ. We did not recommend taking short position at beginning of week but holding on to any such position till mid week. The latter recommednation would have resulted in minor losses greatly offset by gains from long position suggested for mid week.

Next week Jan 30- Feb 3,2006: The picture for the coming week is not clear but suggest taking a long position around mid week after correction ( likely on Tuesday or wednesday). Do not suggest taking a fresh position based on Tarot cards at beginning of week but hold on to any carry over long position till end week at least.

It is more difficult to suggest the best time to buy for intra day trading purpose. Two suggested timings are in morning ( with a delay) and late morning-afternoon ( 11.30- 1pm).

Late afternoon could see volatility and strong spurt in the indices (DJIA)

Review: Both the indices ended with negligible change. Both the indices surged up in late afternoon as predicted. Suggested buying periods ( in morning and afternoon) corresponded with dips in the indices.

Review: Part 1 of the prediction did not turn out right though part 2 & 3 of our prediction was on the spot. However since our emphasis was on going short in the morning it was not a good prediction.

Two sharp falls likely (1) dip in late morning/ second hour of trade ( approx 10 am- 11 am) followed by good rise (2) late afternoon followed by good rise.Normally good correlation with NASDAQ may be weak today like yesterday ( January 5,2006)


Review: DJIA ended with (good) gains as predicted. Further there was a sharp fall in morning followed by a good rise but fall occurred soemwhat earlier than what was indicated in our prediction. However second expected fall did not come but the second good rise did come came after a period of relative stagnation in the afternoon.

We recommended going short around 11.30-12 noon and long around 2-2.30 pm in our strategies.
DJIA fell and rose around these times respectively but we expected greater rise than just around 40 points.

However the correlation with NASDAQ was weak
